As our Southwest operations continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to support our active project operations in Abilene, Texas.
This position is ideal for a hands-on mechanic with experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction equipment, trucks, fleet vehicles, and other equipment used in demanding construction environments.
The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for helping keep Gregory Construction's heavy equipment and fleet safe, reliable, and operational in the field.
This individual will perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairs on a variety of construction equipment and vehicles supporting our Abilene project operations.
The ideal candidate will have direct mechanical experience working with equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers, loaders, graders, and similar heavy construction equipment, along with the ability to support trucks and other fleet vehicles as needed.
Experience with Komatsu equipment is strongly preferred, as well as a working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general mechanical troubleshooting.
We are looking for a dependable, hands-on mechanic who understands the demands of keeping equipment running in an active construction environment.
The right candidate should be mechanically inclined, comfortable troubleshooting equipment issues, and capable of recognizing potential problems before they result in significant downtime. This person should be equally comfortable performing routine preventative maintenance and assisting with more involved repairs when equipment needs attention.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive attitude, mechanical aptitude, accountability, and willingness to support field operations wherever needed.
