Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in Morenci, AZ is seeking an on-site Maintenance Associate to safely maintain and repair heavy equipment in a 24/7 operation. You will support mechanics, perform preventative maintenance, and complete work orders in a high-precision mining environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions in English.
• Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as haul trucks, water trucks, dozers, loaders, and graders.
• Assist Mechanics with maintenance activities on transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters and other systems.
• Assist with and perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation.
• Perform housekeeping duties and conduct work area checks.
• May operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.
