Job summary

W-L Construction & Paving, a CRH company, is seeking a Lube, Grease & Fuel Field Technician in Chilhowie, VA. You will fuel, grease, inspect, and perform routine preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles at construction sites and plants.

Role requires CDL, tanker endorsement (hazmat preferred), 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team with flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• CDL required.
• Tanker endorsement required; Hazmat preferred or able to obtain.
• 3+ years of heavy equipment operation and/or maintenance experience.
• Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment and commercial vehicles.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and inspection requirements.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Complete Daily Risk Assessments and report near misses, incidents, and hazards.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Fuel, grease, and service heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks.
• Identify and report equipment issues requiring repair.
• Safely operate heavy equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate equipment concerns to supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
