Job summary

Blattner Company in El Reno, OK, is seeking a field mechanic to troubleshoot and repair equipment ranging from heavy construction to light tools. You will operate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect for defects, with shop-based welding and fabrication tasks as needed.

Candidates typically have a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, plus 1–3 years in maintenance and light welding. CDL with acceptable record and Hazmat endorsements are valued.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and fabrication knowledge usually obtained through a 2 yr post-secondary degree or equivalent training/experience.
• 1–3 years of knowledge of maintenance procedures and tooling from mechanic/light welding roles.
• Experience in servicing a range of equipment and tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs on all types of equipment and work tools and inspects for defects.
• Operates equipment to diagnose problems and supports safety policies on site.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Troubleshoots and repairs all types of equipment from heavy construction to light support equipment and work tools. Operates equipment to diagnose problems and inspects equipment for defects.Responsible for small welding and fabricating tasks required on equipment coming through shop. Able to complete tasks with minimal direction.

STEP INTO THE ROLE

Performs repairs on all types of equipment and work tools. Operates equipment to diagnose problems and inspects equipment for defects. Assists supervisors, co-workers with a variety of mechanic, and related tasks as necessary. Highly aware of safety precautions, policies, and procedures and is able to assist management in maintaining a safe work environment.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Mechanical and fabrication knowledge usually obtained through a 2 yr. post-secondary degree or equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience. One to three years of knowledge of maintenance procedures and tooling obtained through previous work experience in mechanic and light welding.

WHAT SETS YOU APART

Valid Commercial Driver’s License with acceptable driving record or willingness to obtain. Ability to obtain Hazmat with tanker endorsement.
