Job summary

The City of Glendale seeks a skilled Fleet Technician to perform routine to complex maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles, including buses, trucks, and fire apparatus. You’ll diagnose faults, repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, and ensure service manuals and schematics are followed.

The role is second shift (2:30pm–11:00pm) with opportunities to mentor teammates, order parts, and contribute to a growing, award-winning fleet operations team in Glendale, AZ.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a skilled equipment mechanic.
• Two current ASE certifications.
• Completion of an accredited automotive or diesel training program may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor repairs on heavy-duty gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Troubleshoot vehicle systems using manuals and schematics.
• Mentor junior fleet technicians and assist with parts estimation and service planning.
• Operate city vehicles and ensure safety and compliance with guidelines.
