Job summary

JAMES RIVER EQUIPMENT VIRGINIA LLC is looking for a dedicated Field Mechanic in Wilmington to inspect and maintain construction equipment. Candidates should possess a valid driving record and have 3-5 years of experience in diesel mechanics, particularly with construction or forestry equipment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic in the heavy equipment industry, specifically construction and/or forestry.
• Valid, clean driving record to operate field service truck.
• Ability to diagnose equipment problems using technical resources.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain construction equipment.
• Request parts needed for repair and keep track of machine status.
• Conduct engine underhauls, head gaskets, and transmission repairs.

Skills

Experience as a mechanic working on diesel equipment

Knowledge of service department operations

Ability to operate a field service truck

Education

High School diploma or equivalent
