Job summary

Leavitt Machinery is hiring a Field Technician (Heavy Equipment) to join the Service team in Auburn, Washington. You will work under the Service Manager on a variety of machinery repair tasks for loyal customers.

The role requires at least 5 years of mechanical experience, aerial platform repair, and strong problem-solving abilities. Travel to customer sites and a valid driver's license are required; the position is onsite in Auburn, WA with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of mechanical experience in a related industry.
• Previous aerial platform and lift truck repair experience is required.
• Trade Certification is considered a strong asset.
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts.
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• High school diploma.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery.
• Maintaining effective communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs and completing tasks in a timely manner.
• Discussing Service job details with customers and confirming repair scope.
• Coordinating with Parts to order and prep required parts before visiting sites.
• Maintaining documentation like work orders and warranty paperwork.
• Reporting safety incidents promptly and adhering to safety policies.
