Job summary

Suncore Construction & Materials is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Cedar City, UT. You will diagnose, repair, and rebuild diesel engines and transmissions, perform electrical work, and handle field repairs to keep our fleet in top condition.

Requirements include 1+ year field mechanic experience and 2-4 years diesel experience; DOT medical card is required. We offer tool allowance and a cell phone stipend as part of our benefits.

Things You’ll Do

• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment; perform major engine and transmission repairs and replacements as well as electrical diagnosis.
• Perform major electrical repairs (including electronic controls), minor welding repairs, engine and transmission repairs and replacements, as well as equipment and plant maintenance repairs.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Complete road calls and perform field repairs.
• Maintain tools as required to perform job (we'll provide you with a tool allowance and cell phone stipend).
• Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times.

Requirements

• At least 1 year experience as a field mechanic and 2-4 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Must be able to obtain department of transportation (DOT) medical card.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to move at least 50 pounds.
