Summary of Primary Functions:

Dobbs Equipment is seeking a Service Technician. Selected students will gain part-time on-the-job experience at one of our locations while attending the school of their choice. We offer competitive wages and valuable hands-on experience. Upon graduation, full-time opportunities are available for further growth and development. This job description does not include a complete listing of all duties and functions. Management reserves the right to assign additional duties or projects as necessary.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned)

1. Follow all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
2. Prepare reports and forms related to job assignments.
3. Report additional work needed on equipment to the Service Manager.
4. Participate in all training programs as directed.
5. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
6. Report unsafe tools, equipment, or vehicles to the Service Manager.
7. Present a professional image of the dealership at all times.
8. Possess extensive knowledge of John Deere equipment, especially Undercarriage, including design, repair, and maintenance. Experience with other brands will be considered case-by-case.
9. Perform inspections as required.
10. Report shortages and malfunctions to the Service Manager.
11. Be proficient with current computer software and hardware.
12. Remove and install tracks, rollers, idlers, and sprockets.
13. Operate equipment safely.
14. Perform service tasks as assigned by supervisors.
15. Maintain a professional appearance and care for tools and equipment.
16. Arrive on time for scheduled work.
17. Operate company vehicles following safety laws if necessary.
18. Adhere to safety policies of Dobbs Equipment and clients.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

• Valid Driver’s License with a clean record.
• Willingness to accept the position for at least 12 weeks.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance and operation.
• Ability to perform basic repairs using proper tools and manuals.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
• Pass drug screen and background check.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a service shop setting with exposure to changing temperatures, noise, fumes, dust, and moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to use PPE, perform physical tasks including lifting over 50 lbs, climb onto equipment, and have normal vision and hearing capabilities.
