Job summary

Arcosa Traffic Structures, a unit of Arcosa, Inc., seeks a Heavy Assembler at our Sumterville, FL facility to assemble mechanical units and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools.

You will read blueprints, verify parts, lay out references, and ensure assemblies meet tolerances while upholding safety standards in a plant environment. 2+ years in general assembly and the ability to lift 65+ pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Able to read a tape measure.
• Able to lift 65+ pounds, repeatedly.
• 2+ years of experience in general assembly work.
• Steel yard experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and layout specifications.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Fit, align, calibrate and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements
• Read blueprints and verify the parts required prior to assembly
• Inform supervisors of any parts or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem
• Repair units or products that have failed to meet requirements
• Attach components to finished product as specified
• Lay out reference points, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications
• Identify parts that need repair and perform repairs as necessary
• Maybe involved in safety committees or initiatives
• Follows safety rules and practices
