Job summary

Arcosa Traffic Structures in Sumterville, FL is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator to move materials and maintain accurate inventory using ERP systems. You will operate lift trucks and overhead cranes, record receipts, and support production schedules.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of operator experience, 2 years of inventory work, and strong attention to detail with good communication skills. Some steel yard exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• We expect a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1–3 years as a Mobile Equipment Operator.
• 2 years of inventory experience and familiarity with ERP systems are preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication are essential.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate 8,000–30,000 lb lift trucks and boom lifts safely.
• Record stock receipts and maintain accurate ERP-based inventory data.
• Pull materials per production schedule and issue transactions in the ERP system.
• Keep inventory records up to date and assist with stock audits.
• Coordinate with drivers and ensure proper load validation.
• Follow all safety rules and participate in continuous improvement.

Arcosa Traffic Structures is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator. In this role you’ll operate mobile equipment such as lift trucks and/or yard vehicles to move materials and products between receiving and storage locations. As well as, utilize computer software to identify materials/goods, ensure accuracy of purchase orders and maintain inventory.

Location: Sumterville, FL

What You’ll Do

• Operates 8,000-30,000-pound lift truck and boom lifts
• Operates overhead crane on production line
• Receives and records stock receipts in ERP system
• Maintains inventory records and participates in audits for inventory accuracy
• Pulls materials as requested or in accordance with production schedule and performs material issue transactions in ERP system.
• Facilitates communication of inventory to maintain stock levels
• Builds and packages parts or subassembly kits
• Accounts for all materials and supplies in the store’s facilities
• Communicate with inside & outside drivers, checking loads in & out
• Audits goods received into warehouse
• Maintain and improve quality
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Fill-in as needed so that production goals can be met
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-3 years of experience as a Mobile Equipment Operator
• 2 years of experience maintaining inventory
• Experience with ERP Systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Steel yard experience is preferred

Working Conditions

• Hourly full-time position
• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
• This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
