Job summary

Truck Country® / Stoops Freightliner-Western Star is seeking an experienced technician in Lafayette, IN to repair and maintain customer equipment using hand tools and precision measuring devices. The role includes diagnosing engine, driveline and ABS issues with computer-based diagnostic programs, and performing routine checks on brakes, electrical, and air systems.

You will apply diesel and gas engine knowledge to repair procedures and contribute to a team that values safety and reliability,

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a technician.
• Knowledge of diesel and gas engines.
• Knowledge of repair procedures.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain customer equipment using hand tools and machine tools.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and examine parts for defects and wear; repair engine/driveline/ABS issues.
• Perform routine maintenance checks including inspecting brake system, wheel bearings, electrical system, and air system.

• Repair and Maintain customer equipment using hand tools, precision measuring instruments and machine tools
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and examine parts for defects and excessive wear, repair engine/driveline/ABS related issues utilizing sound mechanical knowledge and computer based diagnostic programs
• Perform routine maintenance checks including inspecting brake system, wheel bearings, electrical system, and air system

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a technician
• Ability to display knowledge of diesel and gas engines
• Ability to display knowledge of repair procedures
