Job summary
Trailer Equipment / Trailer X-Press in Byron Center, MI is seeking an experienced Semi-Trailer Technician / Mechanic to join our service team. You will diagnose and repair trailer mechanical, electrical, suspension, brake, and structural issues, perform preventive maintenance, and conduct welding and fabrication as needed.
We offer weekly pay, a clean, well-equipped shop, uniforms, and opportunities for advancement.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities required.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, physical, audiogram, and lift test.
- Must provide own hand tools and have reliable attendance.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair trailer mechanical, electrical, suspension, brake, and structural issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and trailer body repairs.
- Repair or replace damaged trailer components.
- Perform DOT inspections and safety checks.
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation.
- Complete repair documentation accurately.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
