Job summary

UPS is seeking a full-time equipment mechanic in Chelmsford, MA to maintain and repair delivery vehicles, heavy machinery, tractors, and trailers. The role covers hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electronics and engines, with a focus on safe, reliable operation.

The ideal candidate has documented tractor shifter mechanic experience, diagnostic tool proficiency, and a complete hand tool set. CDL preferred; willingness to obtain within first year.

Qualifications

• Citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Own complete set of hand tools
• Experience repairing trailer or dolly equipment
• Must be at least 21 years old
• CDL preferred; must be obtained within the first year

Responsibilities

• Meet DOT requirements and CDL qualification as required
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment
• Work full-time 8–10 hours/day, 4–5 days/week
• Report to work regularly and complete scheduled workday
• Work varying shifts and overtime as needed
• Operate standard/manual transmission
• Operate power tools and PPE as required
• Lift/move up to 70 lbs; assist with up to 150 lbs
• Work in varied environments with temps, humidity, dust and noise
• Communicate effectively to maintain safety
