Scales Sales and Service in Omaha, NE is seeking a dependable Heavy-Duty Scale Technician to install, calibrate, and repair truck scales and industrial weighing systems at customer sites across Nebraska. This role blends mechanical, electrical, and hands‑on field service skills in a dynamic outdoor environment.

You will travel regionally, work independently, document service activity, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, inspect, maintain, and repair truck scales and industrial weighing systems.

• Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

• Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety procedures.

Position Summary

As a Heavy-Duty Scale Technician, you’ll install, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair,
and maintain truck scales and industrial weighing equipment at customer locations
throughout the Omaha, NE region. This position combines mechanical, electrical, and
customer service skills in a hands-on field environment.

You’ll work independently while representing Scales Sales and Service with professionalism and integrity, ensuring customers receive accurate, reliable weighing systems that meet regulatory standards.

What You’ll Do

• Install, calibrate, inspect, maintain, and repair truck scales and industrial weighing systems.

• Industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or field service experience.
• Knowledge of NIST Handbook 44 and commercial weighing regulations.
• Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, cranes, or other heavy equipment.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, or industrial electrical systems.

This is a field-based position requiring travel to customer facilities throughout Nebraska and surrounding areas. Work environments include manufacturing plants, warehouses, trucking terminals, agricultural operations, recycling facilities, and construction sites. Duties may require working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
