COUNTY OF CAYUGA seeks an experienced equipment operator for the County Highway Department to safely operate medium to heavy road building equipment including 10-wheel trucks and snowplows. The role requires maintaining equipment, performing routine servicing, and assisting with related tasks as assigned.

Qualified applicants will have appropriate NYS driver’s license level and the ability to work under varying weather conditions.

Competenze

• One year of experience in the operation of medium weight automotive equipment; OR
• Two years of experience in the operation of light weight automotive equipment.
• Possession of appropriate level of NYS driver’s license (determined by the Highway Department).

Mansioni

• Operates a 10-wheel double axle truck in highway maintenance or other public works projects.
• Operates 4-wheel drive snowplow truck including Walters, Oshkosh, or other type truck mounted snow removal equipment.
• Performs minor mechanical repairs or servicing of automotive equipment.
• On assignment may operate bulldozer, excavator, grader, or other heavy equipment.
• Services assigned equipment and maintains it in clean condition.
