Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics to keep our fleet operating safely and reliably across New Mexico.

This role offers field and shop work, with a company-provided service truck, diagnostic equipment, and ongoing training opportunities. Ideal candidates have 4+ years' experience maintaining heavy equipment, strong mechanical/hydraulic/electrical diagnostic skills, and a proactive, safety-first attitude.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience maintaining heavy equipment, commercial trucks, or construction equipment.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working on mixed fleets.
  • Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, utility equipment, or aerial devices is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues.
  • Completing preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Troubleshooting equipment in both shop and field environments.
  • Performing quality repairs that minimize repeat failures and downtime.
  • Using diagnostic software, service manuals, and manufacturer information.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and work orders.
  • Working closely with operations to keep equipment available for crews.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What You'll Be Working On

Our fleet includes a wide variety of equipment, including:

  • Bucket trucks and aerial devices
  • Directional Drills
  • Pickup trucks and service trucks
  • Equipment and utility trailers
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Construction and utility support equipment

What You'll Do

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll be responsible for keeping our fleet operating safely and reliably by:

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues
  • Completing preventative maintenance and inspections

What We're Looking For

We're looking for mechanics who enjoy troubleshooting and take pride in fixing equipment right the first time.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • 4+ years of experience maintaining heavy equipment, commercial trucks, or construction equipment
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills
  • Experience working on mixed fleets
  • Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, utility equipment, or aerial devices is an asset
  • A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
