Job summary

MTW Employment Services in West Virginia seeks a skilled diesel truck mechanic for on-site work. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair heavy trucks, service attachments, and maintain detailed maintenance reports to meet manufacturer specifications.

Applicants should hold a Class 3 or D driver’s license, Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T), WHMIS and First Aid certificates, and have experience with diesel engine and hydraulic systems; travel is not required.

Qualifications

  • Certified diesel engine repair technician with related licenses.
  • Experience with heavy truck maintenance and repair.
  • WHMIS and First Aid certificates.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 3 or D) and Truck and Coach Licence (310T).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults.
  • Diagnose faults using testing equipment to determine repair scope.
  • Order parts and maintain inventory.
  • Adjust equipment and replace defective parts.
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform heavy truck repair and service attachments.
  • Verify and repair emission control systems.
  • Perform other routine maintenance.

  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Order parts and maintain inventory
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
  • Perform other routine maintenance
