Job summary

Coastal Asphalt is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Dump Truck Mechanic to join our Conway, SC shop. You will diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks, perform preventive maintenance, and document inspections to keep our fleet safe and reliable.

Ideal candidates have diesel truck repair skills, experience with Detroit/Cummins/CAT engines and Allison transmissions, welding ability, and the willingness to train less experienced technicians. Competitive pay and year-round steady work.

Qualifications

Experience repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with Detroit, Cummins, Caterpillar engines and Allison transmissions.
Experience using OEM truck diagnostic software.
Welding and fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair heavy-duty dump trucks.
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
Complete and document DOT inspections.
Troubleshoot engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension and air systems.
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Perform welding and light fabrication repairs as needed.
Keep accurate service and repair records.
Work with the shop team to minimize equipment downtime.
Assist with training and mentoring other technicians as needed.
