Job summary

Guardian Fleet Services is seeking a Heavy‑Duty Wrecker Driver in Madison, TN. You will operate heavy‑duty tow trucks to recover and transport commercial vehicles and equipment, representing the company on‑scene with professionalism and safety.

Responsibilities include complex recoveries, equipment inspection, load securing, and timely communication with dispatch and customers. The role requires physical fitness, DOT knowledge, and a customer‑focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A is required.
• Clean driving record meeting DOT standards.
• Experience operating heavy‑duty wreckers or rotators preferred.
• Knowledge of rigging, recovery techniques, and load securement.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background checks.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy‑duty wreckers, rotators, and recovery equipment to tow or recover vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Perform complex recoveries including rollovers, winch‑outs, loads shifts, and accident scenes.
• Inspect, maintain, and secure rigging, chains, straps, winches, and towing gear.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the wrecker and report issues.
• Communicate with dispatch, law enforcement, customers, and responders on‑scene.
• Secure loads in compliance with DOT and company standards.
• Complete paperwork and digital logs for service reports.
• Respond to calls during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized truck and uphold safety standards.

Position Summary

The Heavy‑Duty Wrecker Driver is responsible for safely operating heavy‑duty tow trucks to recover, tow, and transport commercial vehicles, equipment, and other large loads. This role requires advanced driving skill, strong mechanical awareness, and the ability to perform physically demanding recovery tasks in all weather conditions. The driver represents the company on‑scene and must maintain professionalism, safety, and efficiency at all times.

• Operate heavy‑duty wreckers, rotators, and recovery equipment to tow or recover various vehicles/heavy equipment.
• Perform complex recoveries including rollovers, winch‑outs, load shifts, and accident scene operations.
• Inspect, maintain, and secure all rigging, chains, straps, winches, and towing equipment.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the wrecker and report mechanical issues.
• Communicate with dispatch, law enforcement, customers, and other responders on‑scene.
• Secure loads safely and in compliance with DOT and company standards.
• Complete required paperwork, digital logs, and service reports.
• Respond to calls during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized truck and uphold company safety standards.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, pull, and carry 75–100 lbs. regularly (chains, rigging, toolboxes, hydraulic attachments).
• Operate winches, levers, and manual controls requiring upper‑body strength.
• Perform repeated bending, kneeling, climbing, and crouching during recovery operations.
• Stand and work on uneven ground for extended periods.
