Job summary

CSM Kenworth Canton is actively seeking both entry-level and experienced Diesel Truck Mechanics. Responsibilities include repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of Class 8 trucks. 3-5 years experience for experienced technicians; high school diploma and mechanical aptitude required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Technical degree or certificate preferred for advanced maintenance tasks.
• Strong communication and mechanical aptitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy duty vehicles.
• Troubleshoots electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension systems.
• Writes up repair orders with clear descriptions of causes and procedures.
• Uses diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults and interprets test results.
• Communicates repair details to Shop Foreman and parts personnel.
• Performs road tests to verify repairs and problem isolation.
• Tracks clocked hours to Repair Order operations.
• Interacts professionally with customers and assists other technicians.
