Job summary

I-State Truck Center in Blaine, MN seeks a Heavy-Duty Diesel Truck Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain complex diesel systems on fleet vehicles. You will perform preventive maintenance, component replacements, and minor welding with an emphasis on safety and quality service.

The role requires 2–5 years of experience, strong diagnostic tool proficiency, and the ability to explain repairs to fleet managers. This is a full‑time, on‑site posting with competitive wages and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical/electronic controls.
• Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and hand/power tools.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy‑duty diesel trucks using diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections per regulations.
• Replace/repair engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers or brake systems.
• Do welding/cutting or fabrication to modify frames or components.
• Document service reports and parts usage for warranty and inventory.
• Communicate repairs and recommendations to fleet managers or drivers.
• Adhere to OSHA, DOT and safety protocols.
• Maintain tools and diagnostic equipment for field service readiness.
