Job summary

Truck Country is seeking a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks, ensuring our fleet and customers stay on the road. We provide training and technology to help you succeed in an industry that keeps America moving.

You will work in a hands-on, team-oriented shop, performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance while documenting findings with company laptops and software. Training and advancement opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with medium- or heavy-duty trucks.
  • Basic computer skills for diagnostics.
  • Proficiency with power and hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and an organized workspace.
  • Excellent communication for documenting repair findings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot engine and system issues.
  • Document findings and repairs using company laptops and software.
  • Work independently and in a collaborative shop environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with repair techniques and technologies.

Job description

What you will do:
  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot engine and system issues.
  • Accurately document findings and repairs using company-provided laptops and software.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented shop environment.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development to stay up to date with the latest repair techniques and technologies.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience working with medium- or heavy-duty trucks.
  • Basic computer skills, including diagnostic software.
  • Proficiency with power and hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a clean, organized workspace.
  • Excellent communication skills for documenting and relaying repair findings.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Diesel Technician, especially with Class 8 vehicles.
  • Certifications for Detroit or Cummins engines (priority hiring for certified candidates).
  • CDL license (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Experience with engine overhauls is a plus.
