Job summary

Truck Country is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to service medium- and heavy-duty trucks. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, using diagnostic software to troubleshoot engine issues and keep fleet vehicles in top condition.

You will document findings clearly and work both independently and as part of a team in a busy shop. Ongoing training ensures you stay current with the latest techniques and technologies.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills, including diagnostic software.
• Proficiency with power and hand tools.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot engine and system issues.
• Accurately document findings and repairs using company‑provided laptops and software.
• Work both independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented shop environment.
• Engage in ongoing training and development to stay up to date with the latest repair techniques and technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience working with medium- or heavy-duty trucks.
• Basic computer skills, including diagnostic software.
• Proficiency with power and hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a clean, organized workspace.
• Excellent communication skills for documenting and relaying repair findings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of experience as a Diesel Technician, especially with Class 8 vehicles.
• Certifications for Detroit or Cummins engines (priority hiring for certified candidates).
• CDL license (preferred but not required).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Experience with engine overhauls is a plus.
