Job summary

Sterling Infrastructure, Inc. in Cheyenne, WY is offering a Project Engineer Internship in our Heavy Civil Division. The selected intern will gain hands-on training from Corporate Project Engineers in heavy civil, bridges, piling and shoring.

Interns will experience field and office rotations, with a mentor guiding technical and professional development. Summer 2027 schedule: May–August, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with possible part-time fall/winter work and DOE pay of $19–$25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
• Junior or Senior students preferred.
• Past construction work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in public relations, claims, subcontractor back charges, and force account work.
• Processing all documents required to start-up project as outlined in project checklist.
• Update and maintain C.P.M. under direction of P.M.
• Monthly schedule distribution to field and subcontractors.
• Schedule survey and inspections for field operations.
• Update and maintain as-Built drawings if required.
• Tracking quantities to ensure accurate payment by Owner.
• Managing change order correspondence and tracking.
