Job summary

Flowtec Construction in the Chicago suburbs is seeking a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to join our infrastructure team on major highway, bridge, and transportation projects. You will collaborate with Project Managers and field leadership to support scheduling, budgets, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Project Engineer or APM experience in roadway, bridge, transportation, utilities, or infrastructure work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Managers and field leadership on major construction projects.
• Assist with project controls, scheduling, budgets, and cost tracking.
• Manage RFIs, change orders, submittals, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and field teams.
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget while meeting quality and safety expectations.

I'm working with a well-established infrastructure and heavy civil contractor that is looking to add a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to their Chicago-area team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in heavy civil, transportation, roadway, bridge, or infrastructure construction who wants to take the next step in their career with a company handling complex, high-profile projects.

What you'll be doing:
