Job summary

Ferrovial is seeking entry-level helpers to assist foremen and skilled workers on civil construction projects. In this role you will learn by doing under close supervision, gaining hands-on experience in dirt work, pipe installation, and basic concrete tasks.

You will work outdoors in varying weather, perform physically demanding tasks, and contribute to safe, efficient project execution as part of a global infrastructure group.

Qualifications

• Less than a High School Diploma
• Usually an entry level position as the first step to learn a skill.

Responsibilities

• Digging, spreading and leveling dirt, sand and gravel using a pick, shovel or rake.
• Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials and work area.
• Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials using hand tools.
• Join, wrap and seal sections of pipe.
• Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench and assembling sections of pipe.
• Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering and assisting in the fusing of pipe.
