Job summary

The Construction Estimator at Adams Contracting, LLC will prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy/highway construction projects, supporting the Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager. He/she will review bids with the President before submission and actively pursue new project opportunities.

Responsibilities include cost analysis, quantity takeoffs, budgeting, vendor and subcontractor coordination, and ensuring DBE and self-perform goals are met while growing the vendor and customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in heavy civil or infrastructure construction estimating.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor and equipment costs.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam and ProEst.
• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and ability to present cost data to leadership.
• Ability to collaborate with project managers, subcontractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Develops detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment and subcontractors.
• Collaborates with the Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager to prepare, review and finalize bids.
• Conducts final estimate reviews with the President before submission.
• Obtains, evaluates and negotiates quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Performs cost analysis and quantity takeoffs for project phases.
• Prepares budgeting data and cost reports for forecasts.
