Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator in Florida to join a growing construction team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of civil estimating with DOT experience and a strong background in heavy civil work.

You will prepare accurate project estimates, perform takeoffs, review plans and specs, and coordinate with internal teams to develop competitive bids. The role requires detailed cost analysis, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Civil/Heavy Civil Estimator.
• DOT construction experience required.
• Knowledge of Asphalt paving, Site grading, Earthwork, Storm drainage, Underground utilities, Erosion control, Concrete/site improvements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for heavy civil and DOT projects.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Review civil plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Develop material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor estimates.
• Coordinate with project management, field operations, purchasing, and subs contractors.
• Manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Identify project risks, scope gaps, and potential cost savings.
