Job summary

Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. seeks skilled laborers for our Newark, DE projects. The role involves carrying materials, assisting crew, setting up traffic controls, and operating hand and power tools on heavy civil sites.

DOT card is required, with potential travel to multiple sites. Safety and reliability are essential, with a DOT physical as a condition of employment. Competitive pay: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications, plus a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED; can be replaced with relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; acceptable MVR.
• DOT Card required.
• Experience in Heavy Highway and/or bridge construction preferred.
• Familiar with paving, concrete, highway, MOT and/or bridge construction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Carry, load, unload and stack materials.
• Lay out material and assist experienced crew members.
• Dig with pick and shovel.
• Assist with maintenance of traffic including setting cones, lane closures, TMA/crash trucks, flagging.
• Shovel, rake, spread and vibrate concrete into place.
• Climb embankments and ladders to carry material to various work sites.
• Jackhammer and saw cut concrete.
• Clean up project site of debris.
