Job summary

Wagman Heavy Civil Inc. in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Concrete Laborer to support on-site crews across our heavy civil projects in VA and NC. You will carry, load, unload materials, assist finishing crews with concrete placement, and help ensure quality work on a safety-sensitive site.

The role requires reliable transportation, HS diploma or equivalent, and openness to regional travel. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $23.00 per hour, based on experience, with full-time hours and federal contractor

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED; can be replaced with relevant work experience.
• Reliable transportation.
• Experience in Heavy Highway and/or bridge construction preferred.
• Familiar with paving, concrete, highway and/or bridge construction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Carry, load, unload and stack materials.
• Lay out materials and assist experienced crew members.
• Dig with pick and shovel.
• Shovel, rake, spread and vibrate concrete into place.
• Climb embankments and ladders to carry material to various work sites on project as needed.
• Jackhammer and saw cut concrete, chipping concrete.
• Cleanup project site of debris.
