Foreman - The Foreman's function is to oversee and facilitate all aspects of on-site construction activities or projects. The Foreman will typically lead a crew of 1 to 20 persons and must have first-hand working knowledge of the elements required for execution of the various activities or projects. Involvement begins with pre-construction activities with the Superintendent and continues throughout project completion, contract closeout and warranty.We are a drug-free workplace, and you must consent to drug test and background check.

Responsibilities:

• Takes direction from supervisor on dimensions to build and set forms.
• Selects, cuts, shapes, and assembles lumber and other structural units using manual and power tools.
• Builds concrete forms, pours, and finishes concrete, including steps and stairways.
• Assists in determining sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly, and erection of structures.
• Moves supplies, materials, and equipment from one area of project site to another either manually or using lifting/transferring equipment.
• Lifts, carries, and holds construction materials, tools, and supplies.
• May assist in grade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms as needed.
• Spreads concrete to specified depth using a concrete vibrator or hand tools.
• Levels, smooths, and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straight edge and float or power screed.
• Finishes concrete surfaces using power trowel, broom, or hand trowel.
• Removes rough or defective spots from concrete with abrasive stone or grinder and then create a uniform finished surface.
• Patches holes with patching material.
• Mixes cement using hoe or concrete mixing machine as necessary.
• Willingness to clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
• Operates hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of rigging, equipment, loader, and forklift experience.
• Industry standard tools required.
• Ability to work with other trades.
• Maintains awareness of safety rules and procedures.
• Identifies safety hazards and reports to project supervisors.
• Performs additional assignments at supervisor’s direction.
• Regular, predictable attendance is required.
• Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
