Job summary

Kyle Conti Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Asphalt Operator to lead paving operations as part of our field operations team in New Jersey. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of asphalt paving experience and a proven track record as a lead operator responsible for safety and quality on active projects.

As a member of the paving crew, you will work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, Laborers and other operators to safely execute roadway construction work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience operating asphalt paving and heavy construction equipment.
• Heavy civil, highway, roadway or commercial paving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of asphalt paving operations, materials and placement.
• Ability to understand and follow project plans, specifications and instructions.
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active construction operations.
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and safe equipment operation.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends and overtime as project schedules require.
• Dependable, professional work ethic and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a paving and heavy civil construction team.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt paving and related heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Operate asphalt pavers, rollers, skid steers, loaders, milling machines and other equipment as assigned.
• Perform paving operations in accordance with project plans, specifications and established procedures.
• Monitor asphalt placement, depth, grade, temperature and finish quality.
• Work closely with the paving crew to maintain proper production and placement.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow project specifications, site procedures and company safety requirements.
• Assist with equipment setup, cleanup and routine maintenance as required.
• Maintain proper communication with Foremen, Laborers and other equipment operators.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Work safely around traffic, construction equipment and other active job site conditions.
• Perform other duties related to asphalt paving and heavy civil construction as needed.

Kyle Conti Construction is looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Asphalt Operator with 5+ years of asphalt paving experience to lead paving operations as part of our field operations team.

We’re looking for someone who understands asphalt paving and heavy civil construction, takes pride in operating equipment safely and efficiently, and knows how to produce quality work in an active construction environment.

At KCC, Asphalt Operators are an important part of the project team. You’ll work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, Laborers, and other equipment operators to safely and efficiently complete paving and roadway construction work.

This is an opportunity for an experienced operator to join an established heavy civil contractor and work on major infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Candidates must possess:

• 5+ years of experience operating asphalt paving and heavy construction equipment, including lead operator or crew-lead experience
• Heavy civil, highway, roadway or commercial paving experience preferred
• Knowledge of asphalt paving operations, materials and placement
• Ability to understand and follow project plans, specifications and instructions
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active construction operations
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and safe equipment operation
• Valid driver's license

Preffered experience:

• Highway, roadway, bridge, utility, sitework or paving construction
• Asphalt paving, milling and compaction operations
• Experience operating asphalt pavers, rollers, milling machines, loaders or skid steers
• Experience leading a paving crew or mentoring less experienced operators
• NJ, NY or PA construction markets
• Public works and DOT projects
• Prevailing wage construction projects
• Experience working around live traffic and in active roadway construction zones
• Knowledge of asphalt grades, lifts, compaction and paving specifications
