Job summary

Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is seeking a Heating Systems Group Lead to provide technical leadership and managerial oversight for NSTX-U heating and current drive systems. This role includes directing operations, maintenance, upgrades, and safety programs while coordinating with the broader PPPL research mission.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with high‑power plasma heating technologies, strong supervisory skills, and a proven ability to manage complex engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's with extensive supervisory and project management experience.
• Experience with high‑power plasma heating technologies and associated systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for heating and current drive systems operation, maintenance, and configuration management.
• Lead system upgrades, life extension, and modernization with scope, budget, and schedule oversight.
• Supervise and mentor engineers and staff; ensure safety and compliance of all assigned personnel.
• Coordinate startup, operation, and shutdown of high‑power systems and ensure operations stay within safety baselines.
