You will lead design, maintenance, and upgrades, supervise engineers, manage budgets and schedules, ensure compliance with safety and quality programs, and coordinate NSTX-U related operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or related field with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 10+ years of related experience.
• Progressive supervisory, technical, and project management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on operations, maintenance, and configuration management for experimental operations.
• Lead upgrades, life extension, and modernization, including scope, budget, and schedule.
• Design support for corrective maintenance of components (ion sources, beamlines, power supplies, transmission lines).
• Prepare and maintain engineering calculations and system models; set alarm thresholds.
• Maintain operation/maintenance procedures and maintenance plans.
• Evaluate testing/commissioning data to improve design or operations.
• Coordinate startup, operation, and shutdown of high-power systems; ensure safety and communications.
