Job summary

Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) at Princeton University seeks a Heating Systems Group Lead to oversee the NSTX-U heating and current-drive systems, ensuring technical integrity, safety, and strategic development.

You will manage a team of engineers and technicians, guide upgrades, plan maintenance, and coordinate with experimental operations in a demanding fusion research environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or related field with 12+ years of experience, or Master’s with 10+ years.
• Progressive supervisory and project management responsibilities in a technical setting.
• Experience leading large technical teams and coordinating across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for operations, maintenance, and configuration management of high-power heating and related systems.
• Lead system upgrades, life extension, and modernization with scope, budget, and schedule management.
• Develop and maintain design calculations, system models, and safety/process documentation.
