Job summary

AWS/CES is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Technician for our automotive manufacturing client in Fort Wayne, IN. The role is full-time with a schedule of Tuesday–Saturday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, and a pay rate up to $36.50/hr.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems, diagnosing issues, repairs, and documentation. EPA certification is required, with HVAC trade credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• EPA certification is required.
• HVAC certification or applicable trade credentials are preferred.
• Experience with commercial/industrial HVAC systems and schematics reading.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related equipment.
• Diagnose system issues using testing equipment and established procedures.
• Inspect, adjust, replace components, and install equipment as needed.
• Respond to HVAC service calls to minimize downtime and maintain comfort.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment conditions.
• Follow safety procedures, standards, and facility requirements during work.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems throughout the facility.
• Troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose system issues using technical knowledge, testing equipment, and established troubleshooting procedures.
• Perform inspections, adjustments, component replacements, and equipment installations as needed.
• Respond to HVAC service calls and equipment issues while minimizing facility downtime and maintaining comfortable operating conditions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment conditions.
• Follow all safety procedures, maintenance standards, and facility requirements while performing work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HVAC Technician, HVAC Maintenance Technician, Facilities Technician, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.
• Experience working with commercial, industrial, or manufacturing HVAC equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, equipment manuals, and schematics.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and preventative maintenance practices.
• HVAC certification or applicable trade credentials preferred.
