Role Description

The Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Charlotte, FL. This role is responsible for diagnosing and repairing heating and cooling systems, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. Daily tasks include troubleshooting equipment issues, completing service calls, installing or replacing components, and documenting work performed. The technician interacts directly with customers, explains findings and recommended solutions, and supports high levels of customer satisfaction. The role may require occasional on-call work, adherence to company safety standards, and collaboration with other team members to complete larger projects.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform Maintenance & Repair tasks on residential and/or light commercial HVAC systems, including routine service and system checks.
• Experience with Preventive Maintenance practices to extend equipment life and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
• Strong Troubleshooting skills for identifying mechanical, electrical, and control issues in heating and cooling systems.
• Commitment to Customer Satisfaction, with clear communication, professional conduct, and timely follow-up on service calls.
• Relevant EPA certification (such as EPA 608) for handling refrigerants and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles, and ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to travel locally between job sites.
• Physical ability to lift equipment, work in confined spaces or outdoors, and follow all safety procedures.
• Prior experience as an HVAC service technician or completion of an HVAC training program or apprenticeship is highly beneficial.
