Job summary

Wittenstein SE in Bartlett, IL seeks a skilled heat-treatment technician to safely machine parts per blueprints within set timelines. You will operate and monitor heat treatment systems, adjust parameters, and document results in the ERP system. The role requires teamwork with Quality personnel and adherence to maintenance schedules.

Experience with hardness testing, spectral analysis, and metallographic sample evaluation is advantageous. Training and shift-based work are expected.

Qualifications

• Able to read and interpret blueprints for heat-treated parts.
• Troubleshoot simple faults and warnings in machinery.
• Coordinate with Quality team to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Job description

Salary Range: $27-$34 per hour

Primary Purpose of this position is to machine parts safely according to blueprints, established procedures and guidelines within given timeframes.

• Responsibilities
• Prepare components for heat treatment
• Operation and monitoring of heat treatment systems in automatic mode
• Troubleshoot simple faults and warning messages
• Adjust process parameters in heat treatment programs
• Perform and assist with maintenance work on the heat treatment systems laboratory equipment in accordance with the maintenance schedule
• Perform and document hardness tests using various test methods
• Perform and determine the material quality using spectral analysis
• Perform grinding burn test
• Production, measurement, and evaluation of metallographic micrograph samples
• Report through the ERP system time and quantities
• Communicate within the team and Quality personnel effectively
• Maintain shift process controls and performance reports
