Job summary

Bodycote is seeking a Furnace Operator based in Fountain Inn, SC to perform essential heat treating tasks under supervision. The role involves loading/unloading furnaces, monitoring equipment, and ensuring safe handling of customer inventory.

Training and advancement opportunities are available, with a mandatory weekend schedule. The position requires high school education, ITAR awareness, and the ability to work overtime if needed in a heavy industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Prior Heat Treating experience and ability to operate related equipment.
• Must understand safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Ability to read procedures and follow shop traveler or customer paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
• Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
