Job summary

Bodycote, the world’s largest provider of thermal processing services, invites applications for a Heat Treater B in Arlington, TX. You will perform essential heat treatment tasks under the Plant Manager’s direction to meet customer specifications and assist other team members as needed.

This role requires basic manufacturing experience, a focus on safety, and the ability to work night shifts from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. ITAR compliance and a pre-employment screen are required to join our team.

Qualifications

• ITAR compliance required; U.S. citizens or permanent residents only.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six months manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of metallurgy and temperatures.
• May require overtime or any shift, including weekends.
• Forklift certification required.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with heat treating operations and equipment per procedures.
• Load and unload furnaces, bins, fixtures.
• Report any irregularities to supervisor.
• Maintain safety and good housekeeping.
• Support team and other tasks as needed.
• Care for customer inventory in a safe, responsible manner.
• Punctually report to work and follow directions.

Position Summary

Based in Arlington, TX the Heat Treater B position will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Plant Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Assists with operations, control and monitoring of heat treating and related equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork
• Prepares work for processing; load and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
• Brings any unusual problem or irregularity to the attention of supervisor.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co‑workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism

Required Qualifications

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum six months experience in manufacturing.
• Must have working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
• Must have able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months experience in Heat Treat Experience.
• Six months experience in Hardness Testing.

Physical & Mental Demands

The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone
