Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Heat Treat Manufacturing Technician at its location in Commerce, CA. This position is vital in supporting missions critical to national and global security. The role involves operating heating equipment, loading/unloading parts, and ensuring quality through testing and inspections.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or heat treat environment for Level 2.
• 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or heat treat environment for Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor heating equipment.
• Load and unload parts into and out of furnaces.
• Adjust temperature, time, and atmosphere controls.
• Conduct visual inspections and perform hardness testing.
• Log production data accurately and perform routine maintenance.
• Follow strict safety protocols.

Skills

Familiarity with aerospace alloys (Titanium, Nickel, Aluminum, Steel)

Experience with vacuum/atmosphere furnaces and pyrometry

Knowledge of hardness testing and metallurgical principles

Ability to read blueprints and technical documents

Ability to lift 35-50 lbs

Stand for long periods

Work in hot and loud environments

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
