We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Heat Treatment Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring heat treatment equipment, ensuring product quality, maintaining production efficiency, and supporting a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with heat treatment processes, quality inspection requirements, and manufacturing systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate heat treatment equipment and associated machinery in accordance with established safety procedures and work instructions.
  • Set up equipment and verify process parameters prior to production runs.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, work orders, and customer requirements.
  • Perform 100% inspection of parts as required and release conforming product for shipment.
  • Package finished products according to established packaging instructions.
  • Initiate corrective actions and communicate production issues when process disturbances occur to maintain continuous production.
  • Prepare and stage materials to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Conduct production checks and verify compliance with quality assurance test plans.
  • Accurately document production activities and inspection results utilizing ERP and CAQ systems.
  • Follow all Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and customer complaints.
Qualifications and ExperienceRequired
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, quality specifications, and operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of measurement and inspection techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials as required.
Preferred
  • CQI-9 certification or related heat treatment quality training.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating heat treatment equipment.
  • Experience with gas nitrocarburizing or similar heat treatment processes.
  • Experience using ERP and/or CAQ systems.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection methods.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with company safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery.
