Job Description: Heat Transfer Engineer
Johnson Controls is seeking a Heat Transfer Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation heat transfer technologies and products for JCI Applied systems. This role requires a strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer. Knowledge of HVACR systems and industrial applications of heat transfer principles is preferred. Experience with testing and evaluating results in an engineering lab is desired. Visa sponsorship may be available depending on experience.
Responsibilities: (Under the supervision of senior staff)
• Develop test plans for the heat transfer performance of chiller and AHU components.
• Evaluate and report test results on component and system-level heat transfer.
• Provide heat transfer support to global product development teams.
• Support technology and product development projects focusing on data center cooling, low GWP refrigerants, and commercial heat pump development.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 years of work experience or research/internships preferred.
• Strong background in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of the JCI Building Efficiency product portfolio and HVAC&R experience is desirable.
• Ability to travel 10% of the time.
