Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Heart Transplant Practice Specialist within the Advanced Heart Failure Program in Boston. The role supports nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and nurse practitioners to ensure safe patient care across evaluation, pre-operative, and post-transplant phases.

You will manage referrals, patient registration, insurance updates, and scheduling for a multidisciplinary team, while maintaining accurate records and triaging calls professionally.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

Responsibilities

• Obtains referrals required for patient prior to scheduled visits and maintains compliance with referral/authorization rules across multiple payers.
• Assists patients with full registration and updates insurance information to ensure accurate billing data.
• Coordinates and schedules multiple new and follow-up appointments for a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintains up-to-date patient information in the Organ Transplant and Tracking Record database.
• Answers and triages a high volume of calls using scripts and provides accurate messages to providers.
