Qualifications

• Six (6) months experience identifying heart rhythm patterns.
• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain certification in arrhythmia annually.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review patient data to determine normal and abnormal heart rhythms.
• Place telemetry leads correctly and monitor readings.
• Notify staff of lead issues.
• Document heart rhythm data on telemetry charts.
• Respond to patient calls and obtain physician orders.
• Monitor pacemaker/ICD function and note anomalies.
• Maintain patient telemetry charts from admission to discharge.
• Observe monitors and alert for ischemia or infarction.
