Jefferson Health seeks a dedicated patient care technician to support an interprofessional team at Abington Memorial Hospital in North Wales, PA. You will perform direct and indirect patient care under licensed supervision, promote safety, and assist with supplies and equipment to keep unit operations efficient.

Responsibilities include patient rounds, responding to call lights promptly, and potential duties as a virtual safety associate using telehealth tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and interprofessional teamwork.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope.
• Knowledge of personal care and hygiene for quality of life.
• Knowledge of patient safety risks and mitigation.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with patients and families.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Understanding of effective communication concepts and practice.
• Engages patients and families as partners in health care.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs validated and designated direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision.
• Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment for efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs, and responds to call lights promptly.
• May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed.
• May assist in remote clinical exams using peripheral devices and telehealth tools.
