Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver both direct and indirect patient care under licensed clinical supervision. The role supports the telehealth program and collaborates with multiple departments to address patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of medical terminology, effective communication, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the interprofessional team, patient, family and care partners.
• Provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Promote and maintain a safe patient care environment.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for efficient unit operations.
• Conduct patient rounds and respond promptly to call lights or pages.
• May serve as a virtual safety associate as needed.
• May facilitate telehealth exams using peripheral devices and telehealth software.
