Job summary

Iowa Ortho is seeking an Occupational Health Support Staff – Hearing Conservation to perform annual audiometric testing and screenings, coordinate testing activities, and maintain accurate medical records in a manufacturing setting.

You will educate team members on noise exposure, support OSHA/HIPAA compliance, schedule follow-up evaluations, and collaborate with health, safety, and HR colleagues to ensure program effectiveness and team member wellness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare education preferred: associate degree or related training.
• Experience with medical screenings or occupational health settings is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidential records handling is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct annual audiometric testing and hearing conservation screenings.
• Educate team members on hearing conservation and protection devices.
• Maintain audiometric equipment, calibration, QC, and documentation.
• Document screening results in the EMR and required systems.
• Schedule testing, follow-up evaluations, and medical surveillance.
• Notify clinical staff of abnormal findings and assist with follow-ups.
• Support broader occupational health programs and additional tests as assigned.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure safe testing environment.
• Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA-compliant handling of health data.
• Collaborate with health, safety, HR, and management to support wellness.
