HearingLife offers the Hearing Care Provider Apprenticeship Program designed to train individuals to become licensed hearing care providers. The program blends virtual and in-person classroom learning with hands-on clinical practice under a licensed Preceptor.

The pathway lasts about 6 months to a year, depending on state requirements, and culminates in clinical certification and licensing readiness. Apprentices must relocate within Illinois after licensure and hold an Associates degree.

Qualifications

• Must relocate within Illinois after licensure.
• Requires at least an Associates degree as stated in Illinois rules.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits friendly and courteous behavior with Patients and maintains rapport.
• Maintains schedule and regular touch points with Patients.
• Conduits Tympanometry and Otoscopic examinations as within scope of practice.
• Conducts pure tone air and bone conduction tests with/without masking.
• Makes personalized amplification recommendations based on patient needs.
• Handle fitting and dispensing hearing instruments and provide follow-up care.
